This magazine cover of the November 20, 2000, issue of Newsweek is entitled, "The Winner Is," with a photo of half George W. Bush and half Al Gore. The presidential election had taken place earlier that month, but there was still no clear winner declared because of the close ballot count in the state of Florida. In this issue, Newsweek chronicled the lawsuits, court challenges and endless counting of ballots. The following month, George W. Bush was declared the winner of the closest presidential election in United States history.

In this magazine it shows that America didn't know who was to become president. It also says on the magazine "The Inside Story of America's Closest, Craziest Election. That clearly tells you how everyone was unclear of who won. In the main photo on the magazine it's both electives split into one with half of their faces.

Magazine Covers Preview.

Masthead (logo): This is Label of the Magazine, it's usually very visual and unique.


Dateline: It's the Date and month the magazine was released. 


Main image: The main image on the  cover of the the magazine which is suppose to be the main focus.


Model credit: It shows  compliment to the model basically.


Coverlines: Is little sentences on edges off the magazine cover, telling what's in the magazine.


Main cover line: Is a big font sentence showing what's inside. It's very visible


Left third: Is where the sometimes put the bar codes for sales.


Bar code: Where you can scan it with your phone to go to the website.


Selling line: Short line describing who's the magazine is to.

Photoshop Introduction

4. The crop tool is used to cut some of the picture away. It somewhat makes the picture smaller.

5. The lasso tool is used to basically only make adjustments to one part of the picture.

6. The text tool always you to write on your photo.

7. MAC and PC will undo your last action.

8. To undo more then one action you have to go to history palette. You have to go to Window then click History.

9. To rotate your photo you go to image menu and select Image rotation.

10. You can cancel it by clicking Return.

11. You are telling Photoshop which dimensions the image should result in after your crop.

Photoshop Notes

Save As

Rename your image Make sure the image is saved as a .jpg at the highest (maximum) image quality.

SAVE- you do not have to rename the image at this point. Save often and regularly.

Nestle- tools are stacked on each other - to access those tools you have to left click and hold the button down.

Command c = copy
Command v = paste
Command z = undo
Command, shift, z = step backward
Command s = save
Command p = print
Command L = levels

To turn an image go to
>Image>Image Rotation
CW and CWW
CW  = clockwise
CWW = counter clockwise
180 = 1/2 rotation

Channel RGB- Moved just the brown jerseys kiss just a little lighter)

To Crop
Select the cropping tool and then click and drag the area you want o crop. Before you crop, you must enter the resolution you want your image to be saved to.

Resolution Guidelines:
Yearbook = 300
Newspaper = 150
Web = 72

To make an image black and white
